MELKSHAM Town Football Club is celebrating after securing promotion to the Toolstation Western League Premier Division, smashing club records along the way by winning 13 out of their last 14 games. Melksham TV were there to capture some of the celebrations

The Christmas Lights Group have dedicated this year’s festive display to Melksham man Roy Bowen who was influential in founding the group around 20 years ago. Sadly, Roy died earlier this year. His widow, Julia, switched on Melksham’s Christmas lights on Saturday 26th November. Paul Weymouth and his team of volunteers work around the clock to make sure Melksham’s lights are the best within miles!

SCHOOLS and businesses across the town have shown their support for this year’s Children in Need fundraising event, by dressing in spots and fancy dress, with a handful of brave teachers at one school opting to have their legs waxed. Money is still being donated for the BBC’s annual Children in Need appeal, but the current total raised on Friday 18th November is already over £26million – an increase on previous years.
During the month of November, Movember are responsible for the sprouting of mens upper lip facial hair in order to raise awareness for mens health, in particular prostate cancer. MELKSHAM boxer Liam Richards is undergoing intensive training for his biggest fight to date, a chance to win the English Super Bantamweight title.
Liam already holds the British Masters Super Featherweight title after defeating Steve Gethin in May.
